Our Ministries
We at Calvary Baptist Church believe it is important to be busy about God’s work.
“James 1: 22* But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23* For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”
“Eph 2:10* For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
In light of this truth we “fight the good fight” by way of many ministries.
Calvary’s Stand Print Ministry: God’s word is needed more and more in the day in which we live. For this reason, God has burdened our hearts with the need to print gospel literature. We will be printing Gospel Tracts, brochures, pamplets, and anything else we can for like minded churches, missionaries, and evangelists. So we can both be a blessing to God’s men and help these other ministries get God’s word out to the masses.
Mens Visitation: We believe the mission of the church extends to the community and not just inside the walls of the sanctuary. Each week, the men of our church meet to visit with the community. We see members who are sick, families that have visited the church, and even knock on doors to invite the people of our area to come and join us in worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ.
Men’s & Ladies Prayer: We believe God hears the prayers of His children. Phillipians 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” For this reason we meet every Sunday evening before service to pray for that service and for our Church.
Sunday School: We believe that we are to provide children with an education, which is based upon and consistent with Biblical teachings. We believe that the home and Church are responsible before God for providing a Christian education to it’s children. To this end, Calvary Baptist Church strives to provide Sunday School classes lead by qualified teachers to every age group. WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN, and want them to grow in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord.
Prayer Chain:
- Prayer- A supplication addressed to God, or an earnest request or wish.
- Chain- A flexible series of connected links or a series of things linked together.
- Prayer chain- A series of connected prayers, linked together addressed to God.
Matthew 21:22 “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
James 5:16b “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
The prayer chain can be a very effectual method of prayer when used correctly. For example, Debbie gets an urgent prayer request. She calls Betty, Betty calls Nan and so on. If you happen to get an answering machine go ahead and leave the request with that person and continue to go down the list until you get an answer. At that time the person you spoke with will call the next one on the list. Within minutes there can be twenty or more people praying at the same time for that one urgent prayer request.
Prayer is mentioned 513 times in the Bible.
DON’T FORGET TO PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER!!!!!
Luke 18:1 “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”
PRAYER TOUCHES THE HEART OF GOD.
Youth Training; We believe young people are very important to the church. In this world they are constantly bombarded with evil things. Youth training here at Calvary Baptist Church does not stop after Sunday School. We strive to provide alternative activities for the young prople of our church. Without submitting to liberal world-like methods. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Church Fellowship: We here at Calvary Baptist Church believe in Christian fellowship. We have been told by many people that we are one of the most friendly churches around. Proverbs 18:24 says,” A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” We engage in fellowship activities as often as possible. We love spending time with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Pastoral Counseling: Trials and tribulations are a product of sin in this current world. We are all going to experience problems from time to time. Sometimes, we need the help of our fellow christians to help guide us through those troubled times. Our Pastor is always available to spend time in counseling.
Missionary Outreach: We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, ethnic group, and language who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We support many missionaries on a monthly basis, and are continuously trying to grow our missionary outreach.
