Our Pastor

Bro Hyatt has been preaching since 1985 and has pastored churches in Alabama, Tennessee, and in Georgia. Bro Hyatt is married to his wife Debra, has three children, David 22 yrs old, Jonathan 16 yrs old and Trisha 13 yrs old.

While in his early twenties Bro Hyatt had made a profession of faith but never did have a sense of inward peace with God. He knew for a good time that his heart was not right with God. On December 12th 1982 after a morning church service, the Holy Spirit continued to deal with his heart about being lost and the need to trust Christ as his Savior. As the Holy Spirit continued to deal with him throughout that day, he was unable to find any peace. That same night, he went back to the same church where he had attended morning services. It was at the end of that evening service, during the alter call, that he realized that if he didn’t get saved then and there, he might never have the hope of heaven. It was here that Bro Hyatt asked Christ to come into his heart and save him by the grace of God.
Two years after his conversion Bro Hyatt starting sensing the call of God upon his life to preach the gospel. For some time he prayed much about this call upon his life. He realized that this was a call of God upon his life and not just an occupation. It was on January 27, 1985 that he announced his call into the ministry during the morning service. For some time afterward he evangelized in local churches as well as some out of town churches. After about two years, Bro Hyatt starting sensing the Lord’s leadership to attend Bible College. He attended Bethany Bible College where he received his General Bible Diploma and then Faith Baptist Institute where he graduated with his Graduate of Theology Degree.
Bro. Hyatt graduated high school at Northwest Whitfield High. Aside from his pastorates in other states; he has always lived in the Tunnel Hill, Ringgold area.
Bro Hyatt would like to extend his personal invitation to you to come and visit with the membership of the Calvary Baptist Church in one of our worship services.
